Bug City Express
I’ll never understand how these two sub-sprawls merged, but Naperville-Bolingbrook (the hyphen is the source of its power) handles most of the rail traffic Chicago used to handle, as well as a large part of the data processing and management that goes into keeping the goods of all of North America flowing through Chicagoland with a minimum of fuss. Renraku and NeoNET are surprisingly strong competitors in N-B, employing the white-collar middle management and skilled technical labor that populate the city. There is some gang activity, but it’s all corporate bratpacks with more damn nuyen than sense. Naperbrook, as the locals call it, is squeaky clean – but that’s only because everybody goes into Westside for the drugs and hookers. More than a few kids end up hooked on something, a nasty little slippery slope that can easily end in prostitution, brief stardom in a snuff BTL, and having your junkie organs put up for sale.
